Vancouver is globally known for its beautiful landscape and wealth of opportunities. However, the reality is a little more grim for many of those who live in the city. Within the breathtaking mountains and waters that surround Vancouver, there exists a multitude of people who struggle each day in order to survive in a city of high living costs. |
| Poverty often begins in, compounds and/or creates a number of destructive situations: unemployment, broken families, illness, crime, drug use, homelessness and involvement in the sex trade. In addition to this, many are consumed with intense loneliness, alienation and lack of purpose. |

| In the midst of such suffering, Community of Hope was created to provide a place of rest, repose and renewal to those in need, through the love of Jesus Christ. The services at COH are all free-of-charge to the public, and are aimed at alleviating the physical and spiritual hunger of those living in Vancouver's Eastside. |
